February 3, 2024 Sapna Bhalsod

Serves 6-8

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained

  • 1 bag of Siete food grain free dip chips

  • 1 small bottle tamarind chutney [can be bought at any indian grocery store or here online]

  • Green chutney- check out Masi’s Green Chutney Recipe

  • 1 small bottle of pani puri masala [can be bought at any indian grocery store or here online]

  • 1 small bag of fine sev [thin chickpea flour noodles can be bought at any indian grocery store or here online]

  • 2 medium boiled potatoes, cubed into ½ in pieces

  • 1 small red onion, chopped finely

  • 1 small bunch of cilantro, chopped finely

  • 2 teaspoon red chili powder

  • 2 teaspoons of salt  or salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized pot boil 6-8 cups of water.

  2. Peel potatoes and cut into ½ in cube pieces. Add to boiling water and cook for about 9 minutes or until tender.

  3. In a large mixing bowl add drained chickpeas, potatoes, finely chopped onions, and chopped cilantro. Mix. Add chili powder and salt.

  4. If using a dry mix add pani puri masala to a jug of water. Adjust to taste. Less water, stronger the flavor.

  5. To assemble add 5-6 dip chips to a plate or bowl. Add 1-2 tablespoons of potato and chickpea mixture on top of each chip. Top with sev, pani puri masala and chutneys.
